Middle College Overview

Thank you for a great 10 years of Middle College! We helped nearly 400 students advance their education in specific industry sectors from 2010 to 2019.

Under the dual-credit design, students received two semesters of relevant technical college coursework to prepare them for the demands of industry. The WDBSCW partnered with technical colleges to provide the curriculum and training. Middle College students achieved "college status" and enrollment with participating Madison College campuses and studied concepts in culinary arts, healthcare or manufacturing. Each track allowed for students to take college classes as they worked to complete their high school graduation requirements.

Middle College also incorporated work readiness through work experiences. Students applied their skills and gained industry and career pathway exposure at local companies that served as work site hosts. Work experiences are funded by the WDBSCW with funding from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
